'Big Bang Theory' actors taking pay cuts to give co-stars raises: reports

The original cast of "The Big Bang Theory" are reportedly taking pay cuts to give raises to co-stars Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik.

The show's principal actors Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg are rumored to be giving up up $100,000 an episode each, according to The Huffington Post. All five cast members have been with the show since its inception in 2007. They currently make $1 million an episode for starring in the No. 1 comedy in key demographics.

Rauch and Bialik joined the show in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

Sources tell Variety Rauch and Bialik are seeking parity in their contracts to complete the show's seasons and 11 and 12 renewal. If the actresses accept their cast mates' gesture of giving up $500,000 an episode - put together - Bialik and Rauch would each make around $450,000 an episode, which totals about $21 million for the next two seasons.

"We’ll put it on for as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air,” said CBS chief Glenn Geller at the 2016 Television Critics Association’s press tour last August (via People Magazine). “I hope it lasts forever.”

Both actresses' characters have become integral to the series' plot.
