Roy Price resigns as head of Amazon Studios after allegations of sexual harassment
WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Roy Price has resigned as the head of Amazon Studios after being accused of sexual harassment, LA Times reports.
Price was previously placed on paid leave after executive producer Isa Hackett revealed harassment she faced from the studio head.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hackett said that after promoting a show she produces for Amazon, Price invited her to a staff party. She rode to the party alongside Price who repeatedly "propositioned her" while speaking about his private area.
The producer tried to tell Price she wasn't interested and that she was a lesbian with a wife and kids but Price would not stop. An outside investigator was brought in to investigate the situation and Hackett says she hasn't seen Price at any events promoting her show since.
Hackett, who produces "The Man in the High Castle," says the incident happened in 2015.
"There’s a culture of harassment [in Hollywood] and we need an infusion of new and diverse leadership, not just including women but gay people, people of color, people with disabilities — people with the full spectrum of life experience," Hackett told THR in an interview. "I feel inspired by the other women who have been far braver than I am, who have come forward. I hope we all continue to inspire each other and ultimately create change."
