Cedar Point to permanently close world's 2nd-tallest roller coaster
SANDUSKY, Ohio (WNWO) —
Cedar Point has announced that it will close one of its long-running roller coasters.
The amusement park said in a Twitter post on Tuesday that the Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster is being retired. The park said the ride has been in operation for 19 seasons and has attracted 18 million riders.
"Cedar Point's legacy of ride innovation continues. Our team is hard at work, creating a new and reimagined ride experience," the post says.
The Dragster was recently cleared by the Ohio Department of Agriculture after a woman was injured while waiting in line in 2021.
