Last call: Titles leaving Netflix in June 2021 (Photo: Netflix)

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — August. Already. Remember when you were young and summer seemed to stretch forever and forever was never long enough? I can't decide if I want July to last another 30 days or end immediately. Between the heat and the rising COVID numbers, I'll take whatever gets us closer to the old normal. In the meantime here's a list of the titles leaving Netflix in August and five film that I recommend catching before they're gone.

Safety Not Guaranteed

I want to say that this is based on a true story. I should probably fact check before I open my mouth. I do know that I saw this at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012. It's a strange tale of Darius (Aubrey Plaza), a magazine intern, who spots a classified ad from someone seeking a time travel companion and sets out to write a story about whomever the author might be. Co-stars Jake Johnson, Karan Soni and Mark Duplass. The film was director Colin Trevorrow's feature debut. He followed it up with "Jurassic World" and then his career went in an unexpected downward direction. (Leaving 8/12/21)

Casino Royale

The best James Bond film ever made. You can quote me on that (and passionately disagree with me if it suits you). How do you beat the combination of Daniel Craig as Bond, Eva Green as the beautiful Vesper Lynd, Judi Dench as M and Mads Mikkelsen as the bad guy Le Chiffre? It was the start of something special. Craig's run as Bond is currently scheduled to end come with the long delayed "No Time to Die" in October. ( Leaving 8/30/21)

The Muppets

The Muppets franchise has had its share of hits and misses. 2011's "The Muppets" is one of their direct hits as Amy Adams and Jason Segel star alongside Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, in this tale about the rich and opportunistic Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) who looks to tear down The Muppet Theatre and replace it with oil drills. To save the theatre, Walter attempts to reunite the original Muppet gang. Love this film. (Leaving 8/31/21)

Nacho Libre

Following the success of "Napoleon Dynamite," director Jared Hess returned with this oddball film about a monk (Jack Blake) who moonlights as a Mexican Luchador wrestler. It's silly, absurd and full of heart. (Leaving 8/31/21)

Road to Perdition

An often overlooked film from Sam Mendes, "Road to Perdition" is set in 1931 and features Tom Hanks as a mob enforcer who goes on the run when his family is targeted by his associates after his son (Tyler Hoechlin) witnesses a murder. (Leaving 8/31/21)
